The Qibao ancient village is just 20 minutes away from Xujiahui. Most of the village houses were built in the Ming dynasty. Taking a traditional sampan along the canal is a great way to take snapshots of the buildings. Delicious local snacks, such as Stewed Pig’s Feet in Sweet-and-Sour Sauce and Red Bean Cake, are easily found. And there are souvenirs, including locally made accessories, along the main street at negotiable prices.

Special trip to shanghai Anyanan
Nanjing Lu is the best shopping place in Shanghai. Besides having the most international and Chinese brand-name shops, there are many fast-food restaurants and light shows. Nanjing Road is really good for shoppers. It is a very long street that is crowded with shops and people. At the end of the street, you’ll reach the river or the Bund, and you can walk around there also – you’ll find many interesting places.

Dong Tai Lu Antique Market Ali Bullock , Online Marketing Manager
A great place to pick up reproduction propaganda art, Chairman Mao red books, and assorted Chinese antiquities. Bargain hard and walk away if you don't get the price you want. An entertaining way to spend an hour or two away from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai's ultra-modern districts.
From the Airport Ali Bullock , Online Marketing Manager
Don't bother with the train -- it doesn't actually take you into the city centre. Better to get a taxi, but have your hotel number on speed dial, as its likely that the driver won't be able to find it.
